Introduction to
Stress Management
Stress is the wear
and tear that our minds and bodies experience as we attempt to cope with
our daily lives that are continually changing. People often think of
stress as pressure at work, a sick child or rush-hour traffic. These
events may be triggers, but stress is actually the body’s internal
reaction to these triggers. Stress is the automatic fight or flight
response by the body’s internal protection system.
Stress is as
individual as a fingerprint it also reveals itself in many different ways,
but the one thing that it always has in common is the effect it causes on
our ability to cope with situations. If the demand put upon us is greater
than our coping skills, we become stressed. So Stress Managements aim is
to hone and fine-tune the skills that are needed to cope with the modern
life we lead. There are also a lot of new skills that can be taught to
help the client be one step ahead.
Stress Management
when implemented can improve your life at work and home because when you
are not stressed you at your best and everyone, family, friends, and your
employer will notice this change in you and the benefits will be endless. |
